Dr. Lance Beaumont is the Dean of the School of the Arts at Samford University, where he leads with a vision of interdisciplinary collaboration, community engagement, and global perspectives in the arts. A seasoned musician, educator, and academic leader, he brings a wealth of experience in music education and administration. His leadership fosters a dynamic and supportive environment, equipping students for success in an evolving cultural landscape.

With a strong background in performance and scholarship, Dr. Beaumont remains actively engaged in the arts community through performances, workshops, and lectures. His commitment to lifelong learning and artistic excellence is evident in both his professional and personal pursuits. Under his leadership, Samford’s School of the Arts is poised to expand its influence and impact in the creative world.

Dr. Beaumont holds a BM and MM in guitar performance from Texas Christian University, and a DMA in music education from Boston University. He is the author of The Capo Chord Book, published by Mel Bay.
